The Grateful Gut Retreat


The Grateful Gut Retreat is a 21 day program based on 3 pillars to create a resilient mind, a healthy body and a happy gut. Here’s what it looks like:

 

Pillar 1: Mindfulness

Because the body and mood are connected via the gut-brain connection, you’ll learn a weekly grounding practice to introduce calm and grounding to your body. Week 1 starts with mind and mood practices to get you grounded and clear on your goals for your health.


Pillar 2: food as medicine

Week 2 of the retreat takes a deep dive into diet to be sure you’re filling your body with brain loving nutrients and building a healthy gut from the inside out. You’ll learn all about the Mediterranean pantry, which olive oil to stock, how to create a better breakfast and which toxins to be sure you avoid. 


Pillar 3: Lifestyle

Week 3 we’ll explore lifestyle. How does stress relate to mood and your gut? And how can you build a resilient nervous system by crafting a better morning routine and restful night’s sleep.

I believe that when we feel well in mind and body, we have the freedom to pursue our heart’s desire.

For years, when I was in college, I battled with my own health demons. I had stubborn insomnia, panic attacks and a constant gnawing pain in my stomach. 

I felt like I was drowning instead of thriving in what was supposed to be a new and exciting time in my life. 

I was young and appeared vital to the outside observer. But, I knew that simply getting out of bed took all my effort and the roller coaster of fatigue and overwhelm left me feeling disoriented and hopeless. 

Maybe you’ve felt like this before. Wondering how long you can handle feeling this terrible? Or if there may come a point when it’d just be too much to handle and you might crash? Or if this was a “normal” part of aging whether you’re 20, 30, 50 or 60? 

I finally got to the point where I had to make a change.

Under the recommendation of a holistic practitioner, I changed my diet. I realized constipation, stomach aches and weird bouts of diarrhea were not normal. I started herbs and supplements and was nudged to look under the hood at my relentless perfectionism. 

She teased out that I had been sleeping an average of about 6 hours since high school. Wind down time in the evening became a priority. 

Over time, all these changes mixed together synergistically to get me well and healthy and back to school and put me on the path to become a practitioner myself.

That’s why I’m so passionate about this holistic way of healing and I’m so thrilled to be sharing the action steps to build a stronger foundation for your mental well-being.

When does the Grateful Gut Retreat start?

It starts when you register! You’ll immediately receive your introductory material and bonuses and get new content daily.

What is the pace of the retreat?

Each day you’ll be asked to complete one step. You’ll need about 20-30 minutes each day to watch the lesson and complete the step. Some steps may require you to return to them as you may need to purchase or replace a pantry item or kitchen tool, for example.

How long will I have access to materials?

The content is dripped out over the course of 21 days. However, you will have access to retreat materials for a full 12 months.

Where is the retreat held?

The Grateful Gut Retreat is a 100% online experience. As a participant of the retreat, you will receive daily emails from Dr. Antonella with a link to your daily lesson. The retreat is self guided, so you can go at your own pace.

Is the retreat vegetarian or vegan?

The Mediterranean diet is not vegan nor vegetarian. If this is your preference, you’ll need to make those adjustments as many recipes will include eggs, butter, fish, chicken and or meat.

Will I get a meal plan each week?

Nope! The meal plan is meant to get you started as each person's routine is different and cooking desire and comfort level is also different. Check out the resources for additional inspiration for recipe ideas.
